Spruce, Oriental

Very dense, pyramidal growth with dark green, stiff, shiny needles that are very, very short – only 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch long. When mature the branches become more pendulous, giving this tree a very elegant, graceful appearance. Produces cones that are only 1″ wide and 3″ – 4″ long. The cones start out as purple, maturing to a coppery brown. Makes an excellent specimen planting.
